How do I make my hair look like this? - Beauty & Cosmetics Message Board

I'm a guy with long hair and I am doing my best to maintain it and keep it as healthy looking as possible, but I really need help with this ^_^
I'm finally going to enroll into a Kendo dojo (Martial Arts) this coming Month. And believe it or not, even though it is a fighting dojo the sensei there stresses neatness. And there is even a famous saying known as "Fumikomi Ashi" which literally translates to beautiful through fighting. So he expects us fighters to look like models almost = /.

And well having long hair as a guy makes it even harder.
Usually after a lot of striding around or such my hair naturally starts to get messed up and you will see some ends sticking out (Even if its in a tail).
So I presume that if my hair is wet/near wet at all times it would always be neat and never frizz up like that.

I think he put some kind of oil in it to maintain the constant wet look. But what do you guys think? I would love to know of any kind of substance to keep my hair looking that neat when i'm sparring so my sensei doesn't think i'm sloppy.

Congrats on your foray into the martial arts.

Kendo is a Japanese art. The hairstyle your pictured is nice but will not remain neat during training. I would recommened a hairstyle Japenese martial artists wear while training. Think Samarai, Sumo Wrestlers, etc. They have long hair which is tightly pulled back and up, looped into a small bun-like pony tail with no free strands. That would be better to keep it neat, contained, and away from the face.
