Anyone have recipe for homemade eyecream? - Beauty & Cosmetics Message Board

I can't believe a teenie, weenie jar of eyecream cost as much as the face or night cream?? Does anyone know the basic ingredient in eyecreams, and if an eyecream can be made simply at home?

Depends what you are using them for...dark circles, lines, bags?
Paula Begoun (cosmeticscop) says that eye creams are nonsense and regular creams do the same job. I just bought Prescriptives new one ($65!!!) and I asked what the difference was between it and the face moisturizer ($95 for 4 times the amount) The sales person said that the eye one was much more emolliant. It does feel like butter.
Personally, I like to use olive/castor oil at night sometimes too. Rehydrates my skin naturally. During the day I use sunscreen on my face and only moisturize my eyes.

It does depend on hat your intended use is. I use cocoa butter, vit 3 oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, and/or camellia oil on all parts of my body and my eyes. I have no lines at all (I am almost 27). If it's for bags/cirlces then I haven't a clue as I have neber used a product (and I have tried many) that works for that and I do not believe there is such a creation.

Thanks, I figured the natural oils would help. As for bags, I think a gel or a astringent type of eye product would help more for this type of problem. A natural help for under eye bags is relaxing with cold tea bags over your eyes. Don't know if it works because I don't have bags under my eyes so I've never tried it for that purpose.
