Too much self-tanner - Beauty & Cosmetics Message Board

I bought some spray on, didn't realize it was soooo dark. My feet look like they've been been dipped in doo-doo. A friend said it will have to wear off - just wondered if anyone has any tips? I need help. TIA

Edited to say I look around on the net @ found nothing re: products that remove self-tanner, safely or otherwise.

This worked for me -- soak a washcloth in hydrogen peroxide and scrub! It takes a while but it works.

Try a very long hot bath with baby oil and scrub with a washcloth. The baby oil really breaks up the tan. Just be prepared for a really dirty tub! But this won't work just one day after tanning. Hopefully by day 2-3 though this technique will do the trick. As for the hydrogen peroxide, it works for small spots but don't rub it on your entire body. That would be way too damaging. Other things you can try are Irish Spring soap, exfoliating wtih baking soda (after the baby oil bath).

There is a self-tanner remover you can buy at Bath and Body Works.

This may sound weird, but I recently was staining a piece of furniture & got the stain on my legs, which had self tanner on them at the time. In trying to remove the stain, I used one of the Mr.Clean Miracle Erasers. It took off the stain & the self tanner. It left a big white spot where the tanner had been! Didn't take too long or hard scrubbing to work either.
