Preventing Lipstick/gloss Bleeding...How? - Beauty & Cosmetics Message Board

This has been such a delimma for me, it seems as though every lip gloss/lipstick bleeds. It sort of leaves bits and pieces on my lip. I use a sealer over the lipstick, yet it does nothing. My make up is from Sephora, though I also have gloss from Clinique that works ok, but that bleeds too! Are my lips the problem?

How can we maitain long-lasting lip gloss/lipstick, without it bleeding, and w/o it cracking that I guess is formed on the lips? Help!

Apply a thin layer of foundation on and around your lips and use a nude lipliner before applying the gloss.

Thanks! I'll give it a try. What do you mean by "nude" lip liner? I am not too familar with make up

By nude I mean a color that matches your lips so that you can't really tell you're wearing anything. There are also clear lipliners. Avon has one in their Glimmersticks line and it's gotten really great reviews so you might be interested in checking that out.

Oh, I see. Yes, that's the kind of lip liner I use. Ok, I'll try using foundation that you've mentioned, however, can I also apply the sealer over the lip gloss? I have a couple and I just hate wasting them

!

I'm actually looking to head over to Clinque to buy some lip gloss. I'll look for Avon too.

Lastly, for lasting "hold," is lipstick better than lip gloss? I aways tend to go with lip gloss. Thoughts? Or is it just preference really?
