Hi. Just hoping I could get my questions answered here. Since I was 12 , I had this lip mole on my upper lip. This mole is a flat black one, not too big, but definately noticable , round 0.3 cm in diameter. From memory, this appeared after I got sunburned at the beach for just one or 2 days when I was little. I'm in my mid 20's now and find having this mole on my lip very embarrasing. This has caused me to have very low self esteem and confidence in my life. I was just wondering if there is any medical breakthrough out there that can get rid of this forever . Can laser treatment be of any help for this matter ? Fade cream ? Is it possible to fade off this black mole so that the area can return back to my natural lip color and not affect the other lip areas color around it ? What would be the side effects during recovery period ? I'm not too sure but I would think that the melanin in this area will always return no matter what ? I would think that if they could turn Michael Jackson from black to white , what's a tiny little spot on the lip compared to that. I also don't know what kinda doctor I should see regarding this problem. Dermatologist ? Would there be any other kind of doctors who would specialize in this field. Cutting the mole out is not an option for me though. Hope anyone out there can help me out. I never knew how miserable one's life can be because of one tiny little mole, if only it would just dissapear.
I currently stay in Sydney, Australia. Thanks in advance.
You should see a dermatologist to get an assessment of the mole. Just be sure it's someone who will evaluate the mole (remove and biopsy if necessary) and also be cognizant of aesthetics. Why is removing not an option??
hey, is the mole like actually in the lip, i hav had a mole on my actual lip, the bottom one, and its getting bigger, im trying to find a plastic surgeon that can treat this, but i dont want to have my lip cut off to have it removed, toshio, if ur mole is on ur lip, then we are in the same boat, it really sucks..
