BE mineral makeup, should I use it???? - Beauty & Cosmetics Message Board

Hello, I was wondering to anyone who is using the BE mineral makeup and who has the same sort of skin as mine if I should use this. I dont know much about it (except its really expensive) but if something works really well I wont mind paying the price. The thing is I have pretty dry skin which tends to breakout mildly (I think that is the worst combination) and I always use a thick foundation to cover my skin and I was just wondering because the BE mineral makeup looks like a powder to me, if it would work for me. I never use regular powder because it tends to make my skin look dry, but is this the same thing as powder and does it actually cover well? I want to try it but I am a bit of a skeptic and when I saw the product on the website I was skeptical that it would be able to give me enough coverage compared to a liquid foundation. If any users have thoughts on this I would be very happy to know!

Hi Susilee,
I'm new to this board and this is my first post! I bought BE last July and loved it.We went to Disney in that heat and humidity, and it still looked great. However, in the winter it can be very drying.I also have dry skin. You have to make sure you use a very good moisturizer before you apply your BE. Let it set for about a half hour before.I also exfoliate everday...I know you're not supposed to, but I use such a gentle one it really makes a huge difference.Also, drinking a lot of water hydrates your skin.

When I first tried BE, I thought to myself....Hmmm..what is so great about this? My pores looked huge and it looked cakey.Well, I didn't watch the video that came with it first. I learned a lot from that video.You have to use the right brushes. Now...as for coverage.If you have dark circles as I do, you will need a concealer first. For the rest of my face, it's good enough coverage. BE actually helped clear up my complexion.Occasionally in the winter when my skin gets really dry, I switch to a liquid foundation....but then I start to break out. Then when I go back to BE..everything clears up.If you do decide to purchase BE...Just watch the video first. Good Luck!

Bare Minerals, in my opinion, is one of the best options for your skin. Using this and changing up my diet I completely cleared my skin. It is imperiative to use a moisturizer under it, though. I use Cetaphil Body Moisturizer and it works great. Bare Minerals is not a power like your traditional pressed powder. With the right moisturizer, right brushes and right application it will look creamy with a satin sheen, just like a good foundation will give you, just much better for your skin!

I've heard from some people that it doesn't give enough coverage. This is due to the fact that you must use the correct brushes in order to get a heavier coverage. You can't use the Flawless Face brush to cover problem areas. I use the Maximum Coverage brush with Bisque as a concealer and then use a large foundation brush (from MAC) to put on the foundation. However, I don't use too much. Using too much of this stuff can make your face feel itchy.

I hope you decide to try it! I started using it almost four years ago... and I'm only on my third small jar of foundation. That really shows how far this stuff can take you, and how much bang for your buck you really get!

Thanks for your comments! I think i will give it a try and order the starter pack from the website, it comes with a money back gaureentee so I dont have to worry too much about the cost, and if you said it lasts a long time...just a little worries about application since by no means am I a makeup expert
