Question about dark eye circles - Beauty & Cosmetics Message Board

I'm just wondering how many of you got your dark circles overnight?

A couple of months ago I had a tooth infection and the flu all at the same time. My immune system was so down I woke up one morning with huge dark circles under my eyes. I'm completely recovered, however, the circles haven't completely gone away. This is the first time in my life I've ever had them. Do you think I will have them forever now??

Hmm. Thats interesting, Ive had dark circles my whole life, even since I was little. I think I have them because of heredity though, my grandma has them in all of her pictures, well at least since her fifties but it skipped my mom. So I dont really know what causes them. I know that there was a couple girls back in highschool that spoke about their eating disorders and most of them developed dark circles because of it. I dont know if they ever went away though. Did you lose weight? Ive been one of those people that struggle with keeping a healthy weight on and Ive put some one now that Im getting mid 20's but I still have them.

I just started getting them a few years ago because of lack of sleep due to fibromyalgia. I wish I knew of something that would help. Obviously sleep would be a great start....but that is and I guess, will always be...forever lack there of.

Apparently your dark circles were caused by allergy when you had that flu. Dark circles are often caused by allergy. You could take some allergy medicines like Claritin.

Having dark circles under you eyes is a good sign that something is up with your body, but can be HEREDITY too.
They can appear for any of these reasons:
*ALLERGIES, ASTHMA and ECZEMA
*MEDICATIONS
*FATIGUE, LACK OF SLEEP
*AGE
*PREGNANCY and MENSTRUATION
*EXPOSURE TO THE SUN
*NUTRITION
Being that you have allergies and had the flu is probably the reason for your dark circles. I would suggest getting some rest and eat healthy. Also some extra B12 might help too. This will feed more oxygen to your cells.
