Do the OTC chemical peels work?

And if so, which one is best? I saw a kit at Bath and Body Works, but hate to spend the money (though I know it is tons cheaper than having it done by a professional) if it is not going to work.

Thanks!

Nancy

I use Avon's and love it. I also tried Neutrogena's and it worked good as well.

Re: Do the OTC chemical peels work?

I read a book once on skin maintenance. One of the things recommended were 30% glycolic acid peels. They force the cells to peel and re-juvinate. From what I understand, they are the same peels you will typically get at salons that offer facials, etc.

[removed] It's obvious it's working - there's some stinging. My skin lightly peels about a couple of days after application. I use it every other week, and notice a BIG difference in the appearance of my skin.

Re: Do the OTC chemical peels work?

I have the oil of olay set and don't see much improvement, though the microderm is good. What kind of results should I look for in a peel anyway and what kinds of skin? I am 29 with very oily skin but not much in the way of wrinkles- I get compliments on my skin....but I don't know!

Since we cannot mention commercial websites, I can't say, but buy from a reputable source, the 30% Glycolic Acid peel, if you want professional results. Just be sure to go by the directions and you should be fine. I buy mine from [removed]

Re: Do the OTC chemical peels work?

Ok, it was worth a try!!!! Sorry MOD! hehe

Ok, I will look into Chemical peels. They seem so harsh, but well worth it when it comes to keeping the aging process at bay.

I recently made an appointment to get Retin-A for wrinkle prevention etc.... I'm scared, but will give it a try.

Keep the ladies posted on great OTC Chemical/glycolic peel finds.
