skin tanning but stretchmarks stay white? - Beauty & Cosmetics Message Board

i have stretch marks from being over weight. ive lost 70lbs but my marks are still there and when i tan now, either fake bake or in the summer outside, my stretch marks stay white while the rest of my body turns a really nice tan color. why is this and is there anything i can do to fix it??

That's what happens with stretch marks. There is no way to make them disappear. Unfortunately they are permanent, like scars, and the only way to eliminate them is to have surgery (kinda drastic if you ask me).
They will always be visible no matter how much you tan, I've even heard that tanning makes them more obvious since your skin turns darker while the marks stay white. If tanning made them disappear, everyone would be doing it for sure.

Unfortunately there is no way to fix it. A lot of us have to live with it, and as painful as that is, it's true (Unless you can afford surgery).

That happened to me too.. I didn't even KNOW I had stretch marks (they were very light and very small on my lower back) and I started tanning and then saw little white lines there. I was never able to get rid of them either, but now that I have lost most of my tan, the marks disappeared.. have you tried using a self tanner instead? I use spray tan sometimes and haven't had any problems with it but it doesn't make me as dark as when I would get a real tan.

Are there any laser procedures that may repair some of the damage? Might be worth an internet search.

tUrRrRa has a good point that I was going to bring up. I would try a self tanner. I would use the gradual ones instead of a regular self-tanner because that way you can slowly build up to the tan you have now. If you put a regular self tanner on, you could accidentally put it on your real tan, and you'll have sploches.

Other than that I don't think theres anything you can do.
