I'm back from all the events where I had asked for advice on false eyelashes. Dilemma: my lashes are pale, straight, and sparse.

I had to vertically trim the lashes with nail scissors to get the length that wouldn't look Halloweenish. That worked well but now I have another method. I read this in Glamour. Lightly curl the lashes at the root. Don't crimp them straight up into spider legs. Take a top band of lashes and cut them into fourths. Take the part that would have gone closest to the eye and attach that at the outer eye area, as close to your lashes as you can get. Follow up with a non-clumping mascara to blend. Use a metal eyelash comb to separate the lashes. The plastic ones aren't as fine toothed.

When applying the mascara, put the wand at the roots of the lashes and wiggle a bit back and forth. Then quickly go up but use a light hand. You want most of the mascara to be at the roots and not weigh down the lashes.

Then if you need to, take a fine-tipped eye pencil in a dark shade or a liquid eyeliner and dot in between your lashes. Quickly and using a light hand, take a fine-tipped Q-tip or brush and gently smudge the dots. Not too much as you just want it to look as if your lashes are full, not as eyeliner.

Add my favorite eye shadow in the whole world, Nars Summertime duo, and the results are stunning.

Revlon has a set of 6 High Dimension pencils and the shades are so wonderful. These pencils have just the right sized tip and go on so super smooth. No pressing or having to wait until your body heat warms the pencil in order to draw a line. I particularily like the Slate and the Gold for night time looks.

I seem to have an ongoing quest for thicker fuller lashes! It's the one area of my face that I am not happy with.
