I learned this from watching "What Not to Wear"!

Use eyeshadow the opposite of your eye color to make your eyes stand out.

Green Eyes: Purple Eyeshadow
Blue Eyes: Brown Eyeshadow
Brown Eyes: Blue Eyeshadow

One time when I was watching that show they said:

For a more subtle look for the green and blue eye'd person use rosey brown tones.

Love that show.

I have blue-green eyes but I have noticed that celebrities with very blue eyes wear brown shadow and their eyes pop. Such as SJP. I started wearing more browns and bronzes and I love the results.

I use the almay eye shadow "kit"...they have it for all eye colors and gives you three colors to use for each eye color...i use the "play it up" green...i love it and have gotten many compliments AND it is inexpensive!

I also have blue-green eyes. I love using browns and bronze on me. It makes by eyes brighter or something.

Another tip...
I have blue eyes but this works great on brown too as my daughters have dark brown eyes and it works great for them too.

I use the white on my lids sometimes...and brown on the middle point and white near the eyebrows mixed with beige so that it doesn't POP. in the corner of my lid I brush on a small amount of gold (I use bare minerals but any gold will work Im sure.) It really opens your eyes and I always get compliments. In the evening I dab it on in the outter corner of my bottom lid and a tad bit just above.
