I have bright blue eyes and I am always told to wear natural - earth tone colors - YUCK - The makeup I wear is as follows (and I do get complemented on my eyes all the time)
Eye Liner: Azure - don't be scared of this color - it's a blue but once you have the rest of the eye make-up on (blends in)- no one ever focuses on the color. Eye shawdow: Mauves and dark pinks. Mascara - Black/Noir
Hopefully this helps

Don't dismiss earth tones. There are many different ones and some do wonders for blue eyes. Look for earth tones that are vibrant, that have a little gold in them or other warm tones. They contrast beautifully with cool blue eyes.

you don't decide what colors to wear based on your eyes as much as on your skin and hair. the fact that your eyes are blue mean you're probably either a winter or summer. whats your hair color ? does your skin and hair contrast a lot ie black and pale white? or not ? you're probably a summer, in which case a good color might be grey.
Allright all of you. I used to be a cosmetologist and YES, you should stick to earthy tones. All different shades of browns will make your eye color change with each different application, you have to try and find one that works best for you. Stay AWAY from blues and pinks. Very dark purples aren't too bad, but browns and charcoal are what you should be looking for.
I have very blue eyes, and what I used to wear (note: in my days of being funky) was a light shimmery blue eyeliner, and a darker, sheer orangey shadow in the crease above my eyes....it really looked fantastic.
These days I do wear a shimmery light brown colour, but if it is too dark, I look kinda silly.
Just my $.02, but I really find any shimmery shade of brown/tan to be beautiful on blue eyes (I could just be jealous though <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif"> I am stuck with green eyes.)
