laser hair removal

Hi all. i was wondering if anyone has had laser hair removal before? I was thinking about getting it done on my underarms, but im not sure of the drawbacks/issues with this procedure.
Any comments appreciated

Re: laser hair removal

Hello Springy.

I'm currently undergoing laser treatments for my facial hair. Next week I'll be getting my seventh treatment. I'm happy with the results I'm getting.

I think the first issue is whether you're an eligible candidate or not. Laser hair removal works best on dark hair and light skin. Laser hair removal doesn't work so well, if at all, on white, blond or red hair. I suggest getting a consultation before your first treatment so you can get a better idea of what to expect and how many treatments you may need.

Another issue is the pain factor. Depending on how sensitive your underarms are, expect the treatments to be painful but not unbearable. I would describe the pain level of laser hair removal as that of getting a tattoo.

This probably isn't so much of an issue now that the summer months are over, but you wouldn't be able to go tanning your underarms between treatments.

Expect to have to go to multiple treatments as hair grows in cycles. For me I go in for a treatment about every eight weeks.

If you can't get a referral from someone you trust, I suggest doing research on the place beforehand to ensure the staff are certified and are using the correct equipment.

Re: laser hair removal

I use the laser hair removal device Silk'n Flash&Go and it works the best for me! It's cheaper than getting it done at the clinic and it's painless and easy! I was skeptical at first because a lot of other hair removal devices haven't worked well for me but so far my hairs have taken a lot longer to grow back and hopefully after using it some more it will be permanent! But so far so good I love this product and it was definitely worth my money. Hope this helps!
