Bell's Palsy
I had heard of Bell's Palsy but had never know what it was like or seen anyone who had it. I woke up one morning with the right side of my face tingling and my right eye didn't seem to want to open. When it did open there were two black "floaters" in my eye. It scared me to death. I thought I was having a stroke. As soon as my eye doctor's office opened, I went down there. They took me right in and after he examined me he called a specialist to get me in, but he said he couldn't see me for three days.
That afternoon I went to my family doctor. He took one look at me and said it was Bell's Palsy and called the same specialist. I don't know what he told him but he got me in that same afternoon. They gave me some ointment and I wore a patch on the eye for a few days. The tingling in the right side of my face went away in a few days. I was luckier than some. My doctor said that some people were bothered with it for weeks and that it could recurr. So far I have not had any more problems.
I'd like to hear from some who have had Bell's Palsy attacks.
