I was on Tetracycline and definitely had to watch out for the sun. I did manage to get burned at least once in May. I want to say you should definitely be careful in the sun even a week or two after you finish the Doxy. Doxy or Tetra are difficult during the summer and in the sun, for that reason.
However, Doxy is supposed to be pretty good. Everything is always a trade off.
