It's not real bad, and it comes and goes and was wondering if anyone ever experiences this with fibromyalgia. I also have OCD and so I freak out when I experience something new cause I have a fear of getting something else like MS or Bell's Palsy or a stroke or something. It's not numb at all, it is just a weird tingle off and on on my tongue and lips and chin on the right side. Yes I do have Fibromyalgia and I get tingling feet and a tingling in my upper back a lot too. But is the face tingling a common symptom of fibromyalgia?
well, I experience tingling INSIDE my head... which is basically the same thing.. I'm sorry to hear you have both OCD and fibro together. I sometimes have OCD-type of thoughts too, but I guess it's also part of having an anxiety disorder.
I have experienced this for years. Tingling in my face, only on the left side, comes & goes. Also have sharp jabbing pains in that side of my temple and above, it comes & goes also, but never have both at the same time. 8yrs+ So, I assumed it was part of Fibro, & now I just saw it listed as a symtom for fibro somewhere..
I too have though just on my right side - it comes and goes - I think it's the nerve ends from somewhere - just like I get pins and needles going down my arm from the pain in my neck/shoulder. I'm going to monitor mine to see if when I get it I can work out if I'm having pain at one particular recurring spot - I'll let you know what I discover
I get tingling and numbness in my face, lips, chin, jaw, tongue and roof of my mouth - comes out of nowhere - very scary and weird...have had it for years...does not happen alot - i've had FM over 25 years.
I'm very thankful for the replies that I received from you all. It has eased my mind to know that this is a symptoms of fibro and not another disease. I posted another question and would like to know from any of you as well if there are any foods that you all have known to trigger your pain. It's on another thread, but I get the responses in my email so you can reply here if you'd like. I'm fairly new to fibro and am just learning my triggers. Ate tuna fish yesterday and I'm hurting real bad today, but ate a buffet the day before so don't know which one caused it, if either did. Once again, thank you for taking the time to reply to my concerns.
Have replied re foods in the other thread - were there any other different things happening that day - for me it's the cold, damp, air conditioning, doing too much, driving too long etc these are all part of my triggers but going to see if any food ones are - the more we can identify the triggers the better we can be at managing it
My husband is adamant about me keeping a diary. I haven't started one yet, but he printed out a sheet with a body figure on it and I'm supposed to draw a line on each point where I'm having pain and mark what I ate and activity I did that day, and he also has a place to circle what the weather is like that day as well. Pretty good. I'm just starting it and I'll see how it goes.
This thread is pretty old so I hope you get this reply. I have tingling face/lips/tongue (as well as hands and feet). I've been diagnosed with Lyme disease.
The tests for Lyme are only 30% accurate so a negative test can be a false negative. Only a trained Lyme specialist (LLMD) can diagnose it or rule it out for you, based on your symptoms.
its sounds a little disturbing, i had the same symptoms you describe at the onset of my bells pallsy, with tingling to one sind of the face and the earache, before moving into full scale facial paralsis, the cause of my bells pallsy was due to a virus similar to the cold sore virus , luckily i was treated with aciclover and within 2 weeks it had completly cleared up.
