Bell's Palsy : Partial facial paralysis dut to injury to the 7th cranial nerve.
Has anyone suffered or heard of anybody who has gotten this? Allegedly it happens to a lot of pregnant women due to the high volume of fluids in their system...
I'm 36 weeks and I've just gotten it...Have no idea what to expect or how to deal...I CAN'T MOVE HALF OF MY FACE !
My mothers boyfriend has it...generaly it's suposed to go away within 6wks. it's not only caused by injury to the nerve but also any swelling or compression around it. I'm not sure why pregnant women are prone, but the good news is in the majority of cases it does go away. I'm not sure how they would treat it with you, but i know my mom's bf was given steriods, and you will need eye drops for your eye, i think that is the major complication that goes along with it, since you can't blink your eye can become dry so you need to be careful with it. I hope you've been to the doctor, he/she can answer any specific questions you have and will know the best treatment for it.
