It sounds like they're doing the right thing. I had bells palsy about 8 years ago and this is the exact same thing I was treated with. I remember the doctor was insistent I was on steroids immediately and I haven't had a problem since. I also had cold sores on a frequent basis in my teens throughout my early 30's.

In a lot of cases it is a stressful situation that brings this on! Keep her stress level low; my doctor made me stay home from work for 1 week with follow up before returning. Hopefully she will recover quickly, with no residual symptoms or issues, like I did!

Keep the humor and make fun of her facial expressions once and a while, LOL!!

Important to keep the eye lubricated with drops! I was cured in 2 weeks with no noticeable symptoms.
