My left cheek is tingling, cool, and feels like it has tears rolling down it.
For the last year or so I have had the strangest sensation in my left eye and on my left cheek. It feels like I have tears in my eye and they are rolling down my cheek , even as far as my chin ? . It feels cool, wet and a little bit tingly. But there is no water anywhere. It comes and goes. It's kinda freaky and I don't know what it is or what to do about it. I have tried looking it up on some of the health websites to no avail. I have seen an Eye specialist , a Doctor , Sinus X-rays , and allergy testing , still no answers, and all clear according to the Doctors ? Has anyone heard anything like this? ............has anyone had any conclusive remedy ? pls reply , thanks Bob
Re: tingling and strange sensations in my face so worried
I have similar issues.
left lower outer eye brow twitches some times
sometimes the whole left side of my face feels numb
sometimes my nose tingles
sometimes my check tingles
i'm dizzy a lot. I've taken vertigo pills, which did nothing to recitify it, so i don't think it was inner ear related at all.
I am in decent shape... a little meat on my bones but do go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week. i'm male, early 30s. blood work is good.
don't drink, don't smoke, eat mostly organic/non gmo/local/etc
I've had a ct scan done a couple times. had a stroke test done and the ER doctor said that a stroke would not cover that much of my face-- it would be more localized. So, feeling werid in more places is actually a good thing it seems.
I followed up with my PCP -- doesn't think it's anything.
I had my wisdom teeth (all 4) out approx 2.5 years ago. no other fillings/etc since then, other than cleanings. I can't recall if i noticed this before that time, but its possible.
I DO see a chiropracter bi-monthly. my lower back is a little twisted and my neck muslces aren't even (i pull one way according to measurements).
I notice it most on days i turn my head a lot, or look down. Things you odn't think of, like watching tv, or even shopping, can trigger it.
I really think it's something in my neck that is getting pinched/etc.
I also think I need glasses. I think i can see fine, but my eyes hurt sometimes like they are strained. I'm going to get an eye test this weekend to see. It's very possible that the eye muscles are what is causing half of this, and the other half is my twisted back muscles.
i'm also going for a massage. They do hot stones on the face and stuff and it works out a lot of it.
Re: tingling and strange sensations in my face so worried
Please stay in touch about all this .....I think it could be neck involvement as well , it's a nuisance indeed . Nerve endings etc. I am 55 so it doesn't seem to have age preference.
As I get into a few more holistic treatments I will post the HB , cheers Bob
Re: tingling and strange sensations in my face so worried
Ok , I may be on to something here ?
Regarding the symptoms .....to recap , I started with sinus , had xray , nothing ....then went for allergy testing , basically nothing showed .....then I thought eyes ? ....was tested by a Optometrist .....no issues in terms of vision ....BUT , he said I will refer you to a specialist [ an opthamologist ] .....now things start to happen . He discovers that I have a type of rosacea and an eye lid condition called blepharitis ......so I start with antibiotic drops and lid care wipes ....I started feeling relief after the two weeks of drops and have now moved to 2 months of oral 250 mlg twice daily of Tetracycline.
The Dr did say that it was chronic and I would have this the rest of my life ??? but if you keep your eye lids as clean as possible it will help keep the build up of dandruff that apparently builds as you age .
There are so many nerve endings that are centralized around the eyes that the tingling affects and sensations of tears can be felt due to the eyelids being clogged and oils backing up in the lids which cause infection ultimately ?....so hopefully this helps some of you ?...cheers from Canada , Bob

OMG! I thought I was the only one this is happening to. Have you found anything out yet? I am have a nerve conduction study done next week. It is very frustrating when you know there is something going on that's not normal and no one can tell you why. I have the feeling of tears in both eyes but the tear is only running down on my right cheek. Is yours 24/7? Mine isn't but don't know what triggers it. I also went to the eye doctor and had a brain MRI. I guess I am fortunate that they didn't find anything. I would love it if someone could help me solve this mystery.

Hi Mary , I did reply yesterday to you ? not sure if you received it , but my rights on the Blog where temporarily suspended as I left my phone [ which is a sin on this site ? I had not read the does and don'ts as I was mostly thinking of solving my health issue ??? ] . It seemed to make sense to discuss it verbally rather than typing it for a half hour or so ? , .....the short answer is I am getting treated and I believe I am on the right track here . Look back on a few of my blog treads , I explained a bit of what I was going through and the steps i took , cheers Bob ...any more info pls ask me

No , I am half way through with antibiotics . As well paying much more attention keeping my eyelashes cleaned daily [ I honestly never paid that much attention to them LOL ] .....as well I use an eye cup with sea salt and rinse my eyes in the morning . Getting some relief ...keep you posted . I'm guessing the Ophthalmologist gave me a 2 month subscription for the antibiotics for a reason . It does make sense if the oil ducts at the eye lash base get clogged and the oils in essence back up and causes infection with in the eye lids etc ....this then triggers a multiple of nerve ending disturbances which this particular Dr. says can trigger many facial sensations that I had described ..........................Life sure is interesting !? Bob
Re: tingling and strange sensations in my face so worried
It sounds logical. How did they know it eas that? Did the run a special test? Were your lids red? 'You mentioned rosacea? There must of been redness? I dont have any redness. Also it isnt all the time. Was yours? I feel as if something is triggering it.

The Dr . said it was a type of Rosacea [ there are several subtypes apparently ? ] I had no redness to speak of , eye lids a bit puffy , and then puffiness under one eye more than the other ?and the sensation of tears etc was intermittent . some days nothing ? still getting some symptoms ....but not as intense. it makes sense that a infection can be triggering nerve reactions ..................I'll keep you posted on my progress , Bob

That's good advise , everyone needs to do their searching , .....the process of elimination .I'll keep you posted how I am doing over the next 6 weeks or so , Cheers Bob
