slanted mouth from Bell's Palsy?

I have an uneven mouth that you can probably notice in the picture, not sure which topic this fits under. I was wondering if there are any recommendations of the type of doctor I can see i.e. a physician? Thanks

Re: slanted mouth from Bell's Palsy?

Hi,
how long has it been since the Bells Palsy?
My face was affected for about 10 weeks and happened just before I gave birth to my first child. I became the exhibit in hospital with all the doctors. Face felt sore for months later and back of ear area even longer. I saw a nuerologist a but he didnt treat me . Things went back to normal over months. Good luck

A neurologist would be the right specialist to see for this. Hope it resolves quickly. Sometimes they will treat with a short course of Prednisone to hasten resolution.

Re: slanted mouth from Bell's Palsy?

Hopeful it will resolve within a short time but BP is slow in healing and the response to treatment varies with individuals and the severity of the disease. If it is treated within 24 hours of onset the prognosis of full and quick recovery is better. I have BP for over 3 years and I have the slant noticeable in pictures. I learn to adapt to it by learning to talk and smile differently so that it is not very obvious. Your response may be different but this is my experience. Good luck!
