Embarrasing things I do

Does anyone else out there ever steal things. I mean like when I'm at the grocery and the clerk asks how many pepsi's I have at the bottom of the cart I'll say 3 but I really have 4. After I get out of the store I feel like I have gotten away with something. I tell my kids stealing is wrong but then I do it. I never steal from friends or take money just do it for the thrill of getting away with something. I have always been a goody goody, everyone calls me the angel of the neighborhood, and I have one of those faces no one would ever expect anything naughty out of. Three years ago, I did the absolute worst. I went to the store to buy a Christmas tree. The guy loaded it onto the wheel cart and said he would help me out. I had trouble getting the sale price so they sent me to customer service, after waiting about 10 minutes I said screw it and went to leave, the guy was waiting for me at the curb and said ready and I said sure. I went to get the car but was so afraid of getting caught I drove away. I later called the store and said I forgot my Christmas tree and they said we have it waiting here for you, I said I'll send my husband after work. So I called my hubby and told him it was too big for my van and would he pick it up after work in his truck. He went in totally clueless picked up the tree and brought it home. NO Problems. We set it up and then I told him what I had done. He was furious at first, said I could have gotten him arrested and then just started laughing his *** off. I was so guilty I wanted to return it yet I was afraid they would arrest me so I donated the $150 to the salvation army. In my mind I said it was okay because they overcharge anyway. Now every Christmas I feel guilty. I mean the reason for Christmas is christianity yet I pull something like this. When it is happening it is like I am somewhere else, I feel this manical urge to get away with it. Then when I do, I later think why in the hell did you do that. Any comments?

Hmmm, interesting. Are you BP? If you are, are you manic when you do this? I know when I am manic I take risks and live life dangerisouly. I have never stolen, but maybe thats your way of taking risks. If you are not BP or if you do this all the time (up and down cycles) I would say you might suffer from cleptomania. Just my thoughts..

Thank goodness this is just a once and awhile thing and yes it is when I am manic. Sometimes I even am able to get it together enough to talk myself through it. Somehow the excitement of this keeps me from acting out in other ways which in my past was always sexually. Now that I'm married I have made a commitment to my hubby to tell him when I feel 'that itch' and he reminds me of all we have and that he will kick my arse...lol But sometimes I just feel as if I'll jump out of my skin if I don't do something crazy. My greatest fear is getting caught and humiliating my family. I also notice I drive faster, take curves with greater risk and am a more aggresive driver when I am manic.
