I can't seem to lose weight because I eat all the time and in huge quantities. I don't think this is emotional eating, rather I think it is because I am chemically imbalanced. I've been on certain medications before and not felt like eating at all. Unfortunately, I can't seem to control my eating habits no matter how badly I want to lose weight. Suggestions, anywone???
SAM, iF i WERE YOU, i WOULD CONTACT A LICENSED, REGISTERED DIETICIAN, AS THIS IS THE FIRT STEP TO GETTING YOUR HUTRITIONAL NEEDS EVALUATED. a DIETICIAN WILL BE ABLE TO HELP GET YOU STARTED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.
I think suzi has some good advice there. You could also talk to your doctor about it, cuz it might be due your meds and for some of them (I'm thinking of Zyprexa) they now have alternative formulas that are supposed to help with that "I always want to eat" feeling. Maybe there's something they can also do medically.

I saw an advertisement yesterday for a new drug that is being tested for binge/compulsive eating. If you have a major university near you that has a teaching hospital that runs clinical trials, perhaps they are doing the study there too. It's being run through the psychiatry department here at the university I work at.

I forgot to mention that some BP medications will actually make you crave sweets and other foods. Zyprexa does that to me. I crave carbs badly! Are you on any type of BP medication? If so, which kind?
