What symptoms can you get from stopping Psch meds cold turkey - Bipolar Disorder Message Board

I stopped my Seroquel cold turkey 3mnths ago. I was on it for 6years. I get these weird sensations through my body, from my head to my toes. When I was taking it I never had this problem. When I stopped it, 3 weeks later this happened. I stopped it for a mnth. and a half and I couldn't sleep that whole time. Now Im back on it and I still get these problems. Confused Christina

NEVER STOP COLD TURKEY. ALWAYS GET YOUR PSYCHIATRIST OR DOCTOR TO MONITOR YOU.

i haven't taken seroquel but on other meds you get flulike symptoms, bad headaches, yaddah yaddah. i wasn't on any of the meds for six years though. i have no idea what the weird sensations could be -- is it like a tingling, numbness, pain, what?

ALWAYS be honest with your doc about wanting to quit certain meds...ugh that's just not a good thing, sounds like your line of communication is sorta bad.

yeah hi You are right about my communication with the doctor. I get weird symptoms that I never got before. It feels like I can feel my own blood passing through me, but I know it's not. It starts at the top of my head and travels to my foot. I get numb in my arm sometimes. I dont know if its nerve sensations, or circulation problems.. I regret tremendously stopping my meds. but I did, because my meds. would cause me to race sometimes and have anxiety problems. At the time I didn't really have a psychiatrist. I was seeing someone, but very rarely. All I know is that being on psych drugs for so long that I have so many problems from these drugs. I have gastrintestinal problems, thyroid problems, and insulin resistance. all from these psych drugs. Its terrible. People should not be put on these drugs, because over time you develop sickneses in your body. Whats your diagnoses? Mine is Bi polar, but now they say OCD. so I dont know.
