Just Wondering... - Bipolar Disorder Message Board

Wow, I love the Boards! I just have had so many questions - and now I can ask them! Apparently there are 2.5 million people with bipolar in the USA. Now, was this always such a common disease? Like, I wonder if there were that many people way back when? WHY???

P.S. WHY DID IT HAPPEN TO ME??? I have no reason to be depressed! I couldn't ask for anything more, other than a new mind!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!!

I didnt know there were that many people in the US that are bipolar but I just
figured it was herditary in my case. Of course with the ever spinning thoughts
add the pyschosis and my mind has imagined a lot of weird things. Stephen King
style. Yuk..... Good Question though, you just keep asking, maybe will all boarden

ya know when i get in a down one of the things i hate most about my brain is that i know its coming & theres not a doggone thing i can do to stop it.
yes i take my meds (strattera welbutrin & trileptal) but im not sure their dialed in: only dxed about a year & its been a roller coaster-think i think that cause i now know how i feel when things are level & moods are even.
but ya know Whelmed? lately ive been shaking my fist at the sky & screaming (figuratively) whadda ya gotta do this for??
im with you, today i hate it i hate it i hate it.

It's been here all along. They just hid, denied, or refused to call it BP.
It's like cancer in a way. The medical tech was not there years ago. Now with a peice of skin, hair or blood they can prove that someone died of XYZ......

I am constantly asking myself the same question, especially as of late. WHY? Why ME? I had so much potential and now it's gone. A bipolar casualty. Why did I have to be the one? If I were given another chance, a healthy, happy brain with everything I used to be, I promise I would never let the world down. But I can't do all that I used to be able to do, and it saddens me incredibly. I feel used, wasted.
