M* I got 2 tell u!

M*,
I'm new to the board and I apologize in advance if I am stepping over the line. But I just have to tell you that you have the heart of an author. Every time I read one of your threads I say to myself "this person should write a book". Your command of the English language, depth of intuition, and unending sense of humor make your writing rise to a different level. They say everyone has a book in them....I think you have more than a few. Who knows what tomorrow brings but today you have a gift.
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your writings.
Take care,
T.

Thumbs up Re: M* I got 2 tell u!

Thanks, " T " !!!

You're not overstepping anything that ought to be stepped into !!!

It's like the olde line about ~ what does a dog do that a man steps into ???

Answer : stnap (read it backwards, as Mozart might have said)...

Thank you VERY, VERY kindly !!!

Yes, over my years, quite a few folks have made that same recommendation.

It's true of both Socrates and Hegel that they NEVER (themselves) wrote down their thoughts. Compilations of their students' notes became what history has documented...

Socrates' student was Plato (but I digress)...

Socrates was also made to ingest poison for being a " rabble rouser " (the name inscribed on my golf shirt). They actually called him a "gadfly" of the state...

Were I to write a book, I fear that I would step on too many toes, and in the end lose my own feet (along with hands, and dandruff shampoo ~ you know... Head and Shoulders !!!)...

I've already experienced the career equivalent of being drawn and quartered. Did I not have a family and remaining child to be concerned for, I might take the plunge !!! If I live and remain "cogent" for another 8 years - it might be a consideration !!!

In bold faced honesty - I HAD started to document pieces for a potential book on my computer.

Then came 2 separate invasions of spyware that disabled the computer and required re-formatting of the hard drive.

ALL files were lost. None had been saved to portable disk.

I still fret over that.

I might have over-played my cards.

I too often email Congress and the Senate about the shenanigans going on - and I must have been on a number of "watch" or "kaa-kaa" lists...

What did I expect ???

Meanwhile, I can still enjoy flying "under the radar" in other web areas !!!

Have a great day !!!

Excellent thread.

Not just to myself but also to M*

Re: M* I got 2 tell u!

I just wanted to add that when I read your stuff, I am like whoa! I am way too unsophisticated for this. If you do decide to publish, I will be first in line! Hope you decide to pursue it! Love, Lori

Re: M* I got 2 tell u!

Hey T. Thanks for that thread. I didn't really pay much attention to M* before, but after reading it, I went back and read all of his old posts, and he's a kick in the pants, allright! I would buy that book in a heartbeat....he always makes me laugh, and isn't that really the best medicine?
You all are great. I'm so glad I found this site..

Oh my goodness...

Haven't had THIS problem before...

All this nice attention ~ and NOW I'm having my first bout with PERFORMANCE ANXIETY !!!

I would consider cyber-Cialis ~ but if my computer stays UP for more than 4 hours - I just can't afford medical treatment for a machine (especially one that lacks a reasonable health plan)...

Thanks again for all the great feedback !!!

You've got my word that I won't suddenly stop...

Don't...

Stop...

She whispered... anxiously awaiting his response...

Uh-oh ~ it looks like that might wind-up being a " pillow book " (for those of you familiar with the Asian niceties)...
