They sure put the fear of gOd into me about that rash business. It made
me nervous as heck. I mean there are rashes and then there are rashes.
Was I suppose to sit around buck naked having arranged mirrors for a 360˚
view in constant vigilance? Was it the sort of rash that caused huge welts
and itched like crazy or was it subtle like the after burn of a hot flash?
Shiver. I was glad to be taken off the stuff. In any case it didn't help and
caused a good deal of disturbing side effects.

Okay, Everyone calm down....

I've been on Lamictal for 7 months. Everyone reacts differently to meds so each of us will eventually find the right cocktail that works the best for them. For me Lamictal works great.

Batmatic - A big welcome to you too! I'm sorry the PDr. gave you such a scare about Lamictal. Yes, one of the reactions is a rash. Yes, if you show signs of a rash call your PDr. immediately. Developing a rash to Lamictal can be a problem but alot of people are perfectly fine on it. (Well as close to fine as we can get LOL) If you look back you will see a thread that started a few weeks ago about people on Lamictal. It has many posts. Read, Read, Read.

Thanks Terry. After a very teary few days, my pdoc informs me today that my meds won't really be kicking in for a couple more weeks, when I increase up to 100 mgs. I hope it will work for me as well. Lori

I too have been on Lamictal for about three months--no rash and it seems to work better for me than any other mood stabilizer I have tried. It's true that everyone's chemistry is unique so it takes some time to find the right mix (Trileptol was a nightmare for me. It made my blood sodium level drop dangerously low)
So, fight the good fight and don't give up. There's something for everyone.
