I've just returned from my first visit with my new,new P-Doc*
In the space of ONE HOUR, I discovered my assumptions concerning my being Bi-Polar (or not) where right.
Long story short - try "...obsessive perfectionist..." (yes, there IS such a thing)
The conversation was FANTASTIC.
I made more progress in ONE HOUR than in the last SEVEN YEARS...
Got some more work to do to confirm this. He wants to start with a C T scan (due to my history) and get Carol involved from my next meeting onwards.
I feel so good right now.
I feel I have a future worth living.
I'll keep you posted (if you Bi-P's will accept an "O P" on your site...???)
Hedge.
* if you recall, I stopped seeing my (private) P-Doc of seven years to see a (state provided) P-Doc. Who decided she needed a SIX MONTH assessment before she could diagnose me...???. (or start helping me). So after waiting six months and getting NOWHERE, I decided to empty my pockets and return to the Private Sector and see a (totally brand new) new P-Doc.
That is excellent Hedge! That sounds really positive and you sound really pleased and happy. Of course you are welcome, after all the guidance and support you've given others how can you even ask that? I wish you the best of everything!
Hedge the only experience I have with OCD/OP is my sister-in-law who can be found at 4 a.m. straightening out the fringe on the oriental rugs in their home.
The Bipolar board is an anomaly. It has taken me forever to break into some of the other boards. I tend to respond to as many people as I can so they can see that I am a nice guy (so to speak) and THEN maybe they'll help me with MY problem.
Sometimes not.
And imagine this - you share something in common with Metallica!
Here I thought you were just your above average great guy...
((((hug))))
Glad to hear that things are looking up for you with the new P-doc. Also glad to hear from you again.
I'm not too familiar with the OP variety. I have OCD, but as I don't have a lot of the more well known symptoms such as checking and washing hands my P-docs don't usually pay it any attention. My shrink does, though, so I guess that's all that matters.
I haven't had as much success on the OCD board, either. At least not like here. This board is really just something special. Please, feel free to be here as much as you like. You bring so much to the board!
Ditto~Ditto Cha! Cha! Cha! Ditto~Ditto Cha! Cha! Cha! I'm just dancing through to say great to hear from you like all the rest. My PDr. just took me off all my meds....I think he's the crazy one!
