sensitivity to noise

Hey everyone...just trying to figure more stuff out - I am wondering if people w/ bipolar are more sensitive to noise than the average person. I have needed a lot of quiet since I was quite young...couldn't even read in a library or classroom w/out putting my fingers in my ears because the sounds of pages turning was so distracting. I am forever looking for quiet and am driven crazy by noise. Is this a personal glitch or a symptom???
Thanks for the help......
Jen

Re: sensitivity to noise

I personally believe it is a symptom/part of the BP.... kind of goes along with the agitation stuff.

Re: sensitivity to noise

Oh dear god yes! I wear earplugs when shopping at walmart (if it's not 2am that is) because all the noise makes me homicidal. I also listen to music at work to drown out everyone else (i work in cubical land), otherwise I'd spend a lot of time in the bathroom trying not to see red. Now I just spend a lot of time in the bathroom trying to keep ahold of my other out of control emotions.
