Pain pills causing insomia?

I have been on oxycontin and lortab for several years. Over the last year my insomia has been bad. I also have notcied that it seems when I take my pain pills oxycontin and or lortabl 4-5 hrs before bedtime, I get a energy rush, like one hour after i take them and it may be messing up my sleep. I think its weird, though all the physicians and the pharmicists along with the research I have done tell me that narocitcs only cause drowisness , and not anxiety or insomia . Could this be a side effect that bipolars have, or maybe a side effect that only I am experiencing?
