Control Freak or what...???

The reason I have been FORCED to switch Internet Provider is because I discovered something almost unbelievable...

My father(*)who spent 25 years with I.B.M. before retiring,
was working for I.B.M. in Saudi on a two year long contract.

He came home 'early' mid way through the second year,
claiming the contract had 'ended early'.

However, before he left the office he accessed the computer system and permanently locked out not only my computer identification number,
but also my name and my telephone number,
from being able to access the web site for S.B.M. (I.B.M. in Saudi).

I recently discovered this after trying to discover WHY,
he came home 'early'...

He then went to work for B.T. here in England.
(if you don't know, B.T. are as big a phone company and internet provider
as you will find in Europe.

I then discovered that once again my computer AND phone line had been locked out of accessing the internet for the same company,
but this time it was locked at using the main server for B.T.
(my former provider)
AND, every time I tried to 'search' for the companies details, I got a virus that deleted my search engine.

HOW'S THAT FOR BEING A CONTROL FREAK...!!!

Is it any wonder I ended up in therapy...???

* he is the one who voiced his opinion of my illness as...
"..you've had your fun with this illness nonsense - now pull yourself together..."

All I can say is, I'm glad I'm finally getting away from my parents and slowly getting better.

Hedge~

Wow, first I have to say, I'm very impressed at your investigative work into the whole situation. That can benefit us tremendously at times, but other times get in the way. This time I's have to say that even though you seemed to be a control freak, at least you held control with a purpose. I'm impressed. And yes, I've heard that line with my parents before. They already have a label for you, and if you deviate from that label then they think you're are just "acting out". I do agree with you that once you get away from your parents your life will get better just for the fact that you will be gaining your own independence and identity. The best of luck to ya

Re: Control Freak or what...???

Dealing with someone who has a toxic personality is difficult enough.
But when they are also someone who is supposed to love you unconditionally, the result can be damage to all 3 sides to us. Physically, emotionally/mentally, Spiritually.

I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see someone like you working to counteract the corrosive aspects of your father.
Someone I loved dearly was unable to do that and the anger and bitterness ultimately destroyed him...

Re: Control Freak or what...???

Hello Hedge !

I am sorry to hear that you are having this kind of problems.
What a ***** ! I wish I knew what to say, to make you feel better, but I
know you are a strong person and you will overcome these adverstites,
and move on with your own life !

My Father died when I was just out of High School, and I was a...,
' big ol' Daddy's Girl ' !
My sister always hung tight with my Mother, so needless to say, we got
along like two crossed sticks ! Always did, until she was on her death bed
for several years.
I suppose you could figure who took care of her then...,
I harbor no ill feelings, I promise. I guess you could say that those last
years we were as close as we could be.., close !

I agree with Ruth, about the fact that anger and bitterness can literally
distroy someone.

I also agree with You and Deranga, in that your life will be much better
when you get away from your parents, and you will be able to gain your
own independance and idenity !

I Wish You Well and Happy Days...,
Take Care,
Gee Gee
