Risperdal anybody?
I'm new to this board here b/c my 9yr old son was recently diagnosed with mania. He was prescribed Risperdal. Just wondering if anybody else's child is on this medication and how do you like it?
As for my son he seems to be doing good on it. Both my husband and I have definitely seen a great deal of improvement on his mood swings/rage.
Also was wondering why it is better to give to them before bedtime? Thank you for all who reply.

I am 21 years old and they had prescribed that to me but i had to get off of it due to increased weight gain and i was producing breast milk... I found it worked rather well it controled my anger and everything they ask you to take it right before your going to bed b/c it will knock you out for the count. Well good luck with your son...

Hi...

They just recently started my son on this med. Like...last Wed. I don't think it has had time to kick in yet. Well...Yesterday was MUCH better than Saturday was, but we still have a ways to go. I keep getting told how wonderful it is (by docs) and I hope that we're able to see how "wonderful" they say it is.

My son is 5.....
