In my dreams everyone has a spouse who understands Bipolar Disorder, has skin so thick that arrows bounce off of it, & never ever says "Snap Out of It".
Ideally you could delay this vacation awhile until you are stabilized. And it would help if your doctor was in your corner on this one so he could talk to your husband about it also.
But it sounds like you're in a corner and you're truly stuck with going??
If so, keep to some sort of regular schedule if you can. Keep the caffeine to a minimum, sleep roughly 8 hours, drink plenty of fluids and take breaks when ever you can. Warn your husband ahead of time what the signs of mania for you are.
Find your stress-free moments where ever you can, but if you do have a break-through mania then this is where YOUR knowledge of your own disorder will come in.
You can't help it.
You can't control it.
It is the chemical imbalance in your brain and all you can do is make do until the vacation is over and you can get back to work on finding your stability.
And, have a good time, ok???
