i know that i have not wriiten on here in a whil where i last left off was in june and my wife and i went on a high-rise of emotion and we were so happy all summer until yesterday. we had a major crash that might even result in our divorce. she came in the house from work and i could see that something was wrong and i asked her what was wrong and she said to leave he alone and that she did not want t talk so i immediatley backed off. about 30min later she just exploded and started saying that i was manipulating her and all of these other hurtful thing she started throwing thing and breaking dishes and then she grabed a big knife and she didn't slash at me but she did threaten to stab me so i just left and she folloed me out side screaming at me the entire way to the car and i drove off after a while of trying to calm her down and went to my boys' place for a while and chilled out there when i came home as soon as i entered the door she grabbed the same knife and told me to leave or she would kill me. so i did i went out and was asleep in my car around the corner from our apt building. after about a hour and a half of sleep she woke me up by banging on the window telling me to leave the area i told her tht this is as far as i go and she started to hit my windows with her had hurting herself even more. she then told me to give her the keys b/c she neede to go somewhere and i just gave them to her and went into the house and when she got back in she said tht she did not want me to leave so i slept in the front room (didn't really sleep). and this morning she was up acting as if nothing had happened calling me baby after threatening to kill me the day before. throught all of this i have stayed calm b/c i know she is BPD and in know tht we were due for a big crash b/c she had been on such a high for so long. i just wanted to know when was too much i mean she is still my wife and i love her no less i cannot see me leaving her hanging at this crucial point but it is getting harder and scarier each episode i don't want to end up a news special or dead for love but i made a promise to her right? someone please help (littletimebomb where are you)

I know if my bi-polar wife threatens me with a knife, I'm calling the police as fast as I can even if it meams leaving to do so. I have called the cops twice in the past three months because my wife tried to commit suscide. The cops handled it very well. It is important for them to know she has bi-polar when you call them so they know what they are dealing with. Don't let them think she is just someone who is out to stab or cut you. She need desperate help during these times before she hurts someone. I can't guarentee it but most cops are trained to deal with these kinds of things. I would bet the farm they would take her to a hospital because of her disability instead of to jail. They call in someone to make an assement of her condition and medicate her. Depending on what they find there are lots of options available to them. Don't worry about that you think she will hate you. Most say they will but in the end they are very glad you choose to help them and keep them from making a bad problem even worse. If you don't do something the odds are one day she will cross that line with you or someone else. Now is your chance to really help her. I hope this helps. TEXASCRITTER
