Anyone Bipolar&ADHD on Strattera?? - Bipolar Disorder Message Board

Hi, I was wondering if anyone with bipolar disorder and ADHD has taken Strattera without a mood stabilizer.

My son was on Strattera for ADHD, and it made him worse! They think now, since in the past 4 years, nothing has calmed his HYPERACTIVITY down, that he might be Bipolar, also!

I hope he is not! But, I see the things he does and acts in school, well, what do I have to loose with him starting a Mood Stablizer!

Now, doesn't mean the Strattera will not work on you. My Psych has that ready, next on my list, after the Neurontin starts bothering me! Wish I hope it doesn't stop! I hate trying new meds, and I have heard that Stratter is very similiar to Wellubutrin. Both meds do take over 6-8 weeks for the full benefits, plus some other similiarities, but I forget right now, since should be sleeping, lol!

Well, let us know what is up! Let me know how you like Stratter! But, have something for those days in teh begining, for a back up! Ask your doc!

I was diagnosed with ADD a year or so ago and tried Strattera. This is prior to being diagnosed with Bipolar II to I was not on a mood stabilizer. Unfortunately, it did not do a darn thing for me other than knock me out.

My doc did say that Strattera wasn't working out quite the way that they had been hoping.

Ok. So now I've been on Strattera for less than a week and I think I should stop taking it because I seriously want to KILL people. Not like the normal angry want to kill people but not really gonna do it type. It's like the I wanna kill for fun and because I can and I'm gonna get away with it type. Ya that makes no sense. I sound like a lunatic. STRATTERA IS BAD!!! Well lets see if I stop taking it Im not gonna have a place to live but if I keep taking it Im gonna kill someone...... hmmmmmm It's kinda ironic, see the first person I would kill if anyone is the person who wants me to keep taking it or else I can't live here. No worries no one call the cops or anything Im not really gonna kill anyone... I would leave b4 it got to that point.... but then what if they follow me?? OK nevermind, I dont even know what Im talking about. I gotta go to the pet store, bye.

STRATTERA IS EVIL!!!!!
