took advice now Im worse

Ok.. so I go to the shrink.. psychiatrist what ever, and he puts me on wellbitrin, lamictal and two days later I have such a bad panic attack I nearly crashed my car driving to work in the morning. Im getting very frustrated because the meds seem to have such bad side effects that being a biopolar without meds seems alot better than a nervous wreck. I think for some they work but I cant afford to experiment with meds.. People should realize people have lives , jobs , families that can be ruined over these serious medications.

I cant believe that I actually feel worse than before. That is a scary thought.

Re: took advice now Im worse

Dear Suzzz.
My Son Was Diagnosed Jan This Year. He Was On So Many Meds. I Had To Learn To Keep A Log Of My Son And You Should. The More You Tell The Doc Than He Can Guide You. There Are So Many Meds And Everyone Is Different. I Also Did Alot Alot Of Research On Meds And Bipolar/adah. He Was On 1 Med And Grew Female Breast My Son Is 15 1/2 I Thought I Would Die And Felt So Bad But It Is Geting Better And He Is On A Different Med. But I Had To Fight To Get Him Off. I Was Scared To Death To Put Him On Meds But Now He Is So Much Better. We Still Have Good Days And Not Good Days. Buy We Take Day By Day. Now My Son Gets Panic Attacks On And Off Meds.
Find A Psy You Want. And Keep Log. And Call Psy For Different Meds If You And Psy Decide.... Always Remember You Have Final Say On The Meds You Take. Also 2days On Meds Might Not Be Actually Being In Your Body Yet. So Could Be Maybe Not Connected.
I Hope You Feel Better And I Will Let You Know If You Want. What I Found About Your Meds..let Me Know.
Hang In There.

I don't believe Wellbutrin is an approved med for Bipolar...in fact, antidepressants will make your condition worse. I was on 5 of them, none of which worked, and it was only until I was removed from them that the bipolar surfaced and the correct diagnosis was made. I don't think you should be on an anti-depressant. ?? Is your diagnosis bipolar? Am I right all? :/ I think a second opinion/doctor is in order. Hang in there.

Dear Suzzz,

i really can empathise with how you're feeling and totally agree Mslanie. I am currently awaiting a day next week to be admitted to review my meds because they're losing the battle at the moment. My responsibility is to my family of course; work is off limits right now which is causing problems of course; but the idea of playing with my meds while at home is of real concern because I'm in the midst of an acute period that actually makes me dangerous at home too.
You must go back to the doc. Take care

Suzanne

Wellbutrin can cause anxiety in some people. Contact your pdoc asap!! Do not hesitate either, nor do not stop taking it as it can also cause problems as well going off of it abruptly.

Hang in there.
