Mood Stablizer...........?? - Bipolar Disorder Message Board

Ok I went on Lamictal..........5 mg for a few weeks.....my mood was so much better but I started to get this feeling I was on a rocking boat and dizzy after the first 10 days or so.........then got severe nasal congestion UGH!!

Has anyone experienced either of these and do they go away with time or do they get worse as time goes on???

Only 5 mg? That seems like such a small dose to be causing those side effects. The normal starting dose is 25mg, or maybe half of that if a person is really sensitive to medication. Did your pdoc say why he was putting you on only 5mg?

I was put on that small starting dose as I am soooooooooooo sensitive to meds!! Makes it so hard to find something that works!
