Is natural lithium effective for BP?
I've been searching on the Internet and came across advertisements for natural lithium. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried it, and if they did, whether it helped.

I would be scared to take anything natural, my doctor said alot of the natural products have caffine and thats a big no no for me. would just stay on products that your doctor gives you . or unless you talk it over with him/her first. moodypoo

The problem with lithium is it is extremely toxic and whilst you are on it you need monthly blood tests to monitor the levels present in your blood, also the level needed for an alleged therapeutic effect is very close to the toxic levels. Hence the monthly blood tests, just a little not enough will not help you and just a little too much will make you very ill.
