New here, depressed and alone... - Bipolar Disorder Message Board

Hi guys!

I was dx'd bpII a little over 2 yrs ago and have been on and off meds and fighting the diagnosis ever since. I am sort of being nudged to go on lamictal at the moment.

I am married to a non supportive sort with 2 kids and I just lost my best friend.

I feel very alone and was just hoping to meet some new friends here.

I hope to find some support and offer whatever I have to give.

Welcome. You have come to the right place. You will meet many friends here. I am not bipolar but read all these boards. Usually I am on the addicted board, have a son who was addicted to xanax and boy did I get support there. Still do. you need to come here often...you will receive the best advice and friendship ever! Keep your chin up and learn the diagnosis....don't let it get the best of you. You take the best from it!!!

Hi Foreveralone, I was dx'd a few years ago as BP1 (only because of hallucinations, I've never been manic only hypomanic) rapid cycling...so every day is a joy ride, or not. I too have a not very supportive spouse. My kids are all grown. I think you will find a lot of help and support here, I know I have in the past.

I'll be your friend!

I am 35 and was diagnosed with bipolar I over 10 years. I rapidly cycle and it sucks. This summer I was hospitalized 3 times for severe bipolar depression and now, 6 months later I think we might finally be finding the right prescription mix to help me feel better (thank God).

You're not alone. I'm new here but this seems like a pretty cool place. Looking forward to hearing from you more.
