Natural energy boosters

Hi everyone

For the past few days I have so little energy that I am barely getting out of bed. Do you have any ideas on how to boost energy. I can not bring myself to do any exercise at all as I can barely stand. Thanks.

Re: Natural energy boosters

Hey Munchie and Molly,

It is very tough to get up and moving when you're incredibly depressed and fatigued. Bipolar take a whole lot out of you. Is there a PCP or your Pdoc that can help you with this?

Molly I got myself a puppy too and he won't let me punk out either, LOL! We walk everyday no matter what the weather brings unless it's below zero with negative windchills.

Munchie just be careful with those energy boosters as they can be quite dangerous and even life threatening. I spoke at length with my Pdoc on this and he's helped me a great deal. I also take a B vitamin along with a multi-vitamin, esther c 500 mg.

I force myself to eat 3-5 small meals daily. I cut out all of the sugary stuff and it helped tremendously. I eat lots of lean protein, colorful veggies (mostly raw), fruits, nuts, seeds and whole grains like oatmeal. All deliver a tremendous wollop of energy for the body!

Good luck with this and feel better!

Re: Natural energy boosters

Munchie,

I sing the praise of vitamin B myself--my mom got me some fast dissolve tablets of B-12 because of how much you don't absorb with pills you swallow. Your are supposed to put the tablet under your tongue. It has helped some. Then there is my favorite soda of all time, Amp by the makers of Mountain Dew. It has B vitamins, ginseng and some other stuff. I will have one of those on tough days, LOL, which has been most days since I started working again. But boy oh boy, the fatigue can be because of dopamine levels being out of whack. If I didn't take an abilify every 2-3 days, I would be a real mess and unable to do anything. It hit me a couple days ago, and I described it to my mom that it felt like something was physically pushing back and down on me, like doubled gravity or something. I don't know if that sounds familiar or not. Anyways. Good luck!
