Ok 2 days before my Disney trip my doctor tells me to quit taking Lamictal 200 mgs cold turkey and decrease my lithium 1400 mgs to 450 mgs add 500mg of depakote. while I was on my vacation I was sooooo dizzzzzzy and was in a fog. 2 days later i asked a pharmist about quitting lamictal cold turkey and lithium being dropped that drastacally and he said should have tried to wean you off. Ok I have an appointment to a new pdoc April 6th but what do I do in the mean time. i do have an app. tom with old one. i am ****ed my disney trip stunk...
im reallly starting to think not such great things about doctors. its like the luck of the draw finding a good caring doctor. thats a huge drop in lithium. depakote will make you very fatigued and tired. have your blood drawn to check your lithium levels?
I'd tell the doctor about how you feel, straight out, no holds barred. It is the honest thing to do, and he probably needs to know that he won't have much of a career, if he treats people the way he has.
Did he explain why he was eliminating and/or decreasing the meds at all?
Since you are bipolar you do need to be at LEAST on a stablizer! I'd find a new doc SOON!
