Anyone else get upset about Paris?

I take other people's problem's to heart, probably too much for my own good.

I just feel like this perfectly normal human being with flaws just like the rest of us is being crucified because of her wealth and celebrity status. Nobody is sentenced that many days for what she did. It makes me sick and I know she is sufferihng from mental illness. The Sheriff said she arrived to the jail medicated and with serious mental health issues. I am told she is not eating, not sleeping, covered in hives from stress, and with high blood pressure. Her attourney also defended my husband in his Beverly Hills DUI. My husband got off easier and was well above the legal limit not at the low end like Paris.

I guess I shouldn't read the news, it's so upsetting.

Re: Anyone else get upset about Paris?

Lucky,

Normally I would agree with you and if it were anyone other then her I would probably still. So that is part of my problem really don't like her. That aside the law threw the proverbial book and to me I could be okay with it if she had served half the time when they accounted for good behavior type thing. The trouble with it is that her celebrity status has gotten her an out card though briefly in this matter. (I am almost betting I will be the unpopular voice on this particular thread that is ok normally I ain't) Anyway mental status has little to do with at times breaking the law. If in jail you are shown or known to have problems then there are places they can and will take you for these problems. And in a hospital that time is counted towards the jail time served. She however was not taken that route as other prisoners would have been. That is my problem with ok along with her. It is saying ok celebrities are ok at times to break the law and if they bat those pretty little lashes we'll smack their hands and let them loose. The SHeriff's department and the sheriff mainly himself will have some explaining to do and I imagine that this is just the beginning really. Fair? A lot of things are not fair in life for a lot of people but up till now she didn't give a hoot about other people as long as she got her hot ticket!

Sorry to be the kill joy in this but honestly I am glad that she was and is back in jail serving for something she did do wrong. She should've appealed the sentence if she thought it were so unfair and like the one lawyer said they probably had this in the works before she ever went. She was the one who said she would do the time and not fight it and withdrew the appeal. So now she has apparently won't get time off for good behavior though on that I am not clear on really but that was the way the Suprerior Court dude sounded other then ticked. Maybe he is making an example out of her and sending a clear message that being a celebrity doesn't make it right for you to break the law or drive away from a car you hit, drive under the influence, drive with a suspended license, or bat those pretty little lashes and expect us to feel bad for you. Her best buddy is soon going to trial on similar charges and she seems more ready for what may come then Paris.

So sorry once again I do hate being the not sure of the word right now in any given topic except for Paris HIlton.

Eme

ps-right now world wise I am more worried about my son be willing to go to Iraq then what that blonde Hollywood Morale officer does or gets anyway!

Re: Anyone else get upset about Paris?

I think the thing about Paris that people either love or hate is her shallow blonde bimbetteness..."That's hot, Whatever"...all the while dressing to the nines and traveling the world and looking fab with Dad's money and not a care in the world. That thing about her I think will be gone for ever, she is now a broken woman, for better or worse. I think now she will be serious and boring and nervous and depressed, like the rest of us....ordinary......not too interesting to watch. I think she was a great escape for lots of people to daydream and watch her life.

Iraq is more imprtant, of course, but I can't handle it. Thankfully other people can. I'm very sensitive to violence and negativity in the media. I know we need to defend our country and do my best to be supportive. I just (personally) can't think about it too much.

Re: Anyone else get upset about Paris?

None of us can know what she is going through - but she certainly had several chances to do right. Do the crime and pay the time. The only thing I don't like is the "Let's make an example out of someone" when there are plenty of rapists, murderers, pedophiles out running scott free. However, she broke the law - several times over and she ran out of free passes. Having said all that - wouldn't we all be a basketcase in her shoes? I for one find the thought of going to jail to be horrifying - so she's definitely scared and reality is slapping her real hard in the face. Hopefully, she'll come out of this ordeal a stronger, better person.

I can't believe I posted about her. I must be tired.

Re: Anyone else get upset about Paris?

Paris has "parisites"....leeches that want a piece of her....this judge wants a book deal and his 5 minutes of fame and he's destroying her to get it. She deserves to be punished, to do a couple of days in jail, lose her license & do community service...that's a NORMAL sentence for what she did.

Her publicist told her she could drive the second time because it was work related and he was wrong. I know that very busy, famous people do what "their people" tell them to do because they never get a minute to themselves to read their own mail, they rely on others because they are very busy. I can see how this happened.
