This may seem like an odd question, but can anesthesia cause mania?

The reason I ask is because I had a specific type of surgery twice and was told that my doctor used two different types of anesthesia for each surgery.

After the first surgery the anesthesia left me feeling extremely tired, but after the second surgery I had much more enegy and experienced a severe manic episode a week later.

I was diagnosed as having schizoaffective disorder bipolar type (a cross between bipolar and schizophrenia) last year and was told that my symptoms were due to stress, but I'm also wondering if anesthesia from the second surgery could also be responsible because if it is, I want to make sure I avoid it the next time I have surgery.
