provigil dosage and tolerance question? - Bipolar Disorder Message Board

I started taking 100 mg of provigil for depression realted fatigue a few months ago. It worked beautifully. After a while, it lost some of the effectiveness so I upped it to 200mg. Now I feel like that may be losing some too. Can you build tolerance? And what doses are appropriate? Thanks

I think 200 mg is a fairly standard dosage. I haven't heard of people taking more than that. As to whether it loses its effect, I don't know the answer to that. You might try finding other meds that don't make you so tired, so the need for provigil is less. I don't know what else you are taking.

I am taking lamictal and xanax...I also work 20hrs a week and have an active 2 year old. I may talk to my pdoc about lowering the xanax. My anxiety has been lowered a little through life changes and it really knocks me out. Even at a low dose. I am also hypothyroid.
