geodon cannot lose weight - Bipolar Disorder Message Board

I am on atkins and on low dose (20) of geodon and cannot lose weight. My weight won't budge and my doctor but me on geodon with hopes that I coulod take off the weight I gained with zyprexa. Is there some conflict with the geodon and atkins? or what about a conflict with geodon and being in ketosis? Help

hey there....
i was placed on geodon for over a year and it actually made me gain weight. it isnt like that with all people, but it was the only medication i was on at the time and i had never had weight issues before. I figured I would fill you in. Geodon affects each person different, so maybe ask your perscriber if that could be an issue. Maybe the geodon and atkins are balancing each other out

I was on geodon for a while and didn't have problems with weight...only extreme sleepiness at 120mg. Yikes!

Are you exercising enough too? That is the biggest step for me for keeping the med weight off. I do feel hungry a lot but exercising really helps.
