hi everyone.........first of all my i say i just feel like (((((((screaming)))))))))):blo b_fire.........went to my dr and they still not hearing told him that lamictal was making me feel tired unmotivated and just plain lousy.......no one hears me...........it is just so frustrating so i stopped taking it...i no clasic bi polar behavior.......i just running out of options......plus in the 6 months i have been on it i have gained 25lbs....not good for a person who struggles everyday not to act on her bulemic urges....not acted on them yet.....i just feel like crying i am not where i need to be for my kids mentally.........help.........what more can i do...live in a small rural area very limited on drs...
I can practially feel your frustration and I'm sorry to hear it. I know you said your area is limited on Drs but could you possibly find another one to try? Maybe one who will listen to what you're saying? I think that's crucial and for some reason it's so hard to find. I know the feeling of running out of options, but I find that it's never really the case. (Easy to say I know) Try to hang in there OK. Do you have any family around to watch the kids so you can get some time to yourself? Go ahead and scream if you have to, there are certainly worse things than that.
Can you go out of the area to a more populated one to go to another doctor?
Is your doctor a psychiatrist who often treats bipolar? If not, please do try to go where you have to to get decent treatment.
What dosage of Lamictal are you on?
I think the amount of experience a doctor has, the better. I'm lucky that I go to a state mental health counseling center, where the psychiatrists see thousands and thousands of patient.
