Are they hallucinations??

Ok - so hallucinatioons can be auditory.... something I didn't relaise until recently...

I'm BP2 for those of you who don't know me and I;'ve been on this board for a long time now...

Anyway, the first auditory voices I remember were when my mum died in 2000. I heard voices telling me I couldl find her in a drawer / wardrobe - so I unpacked every drawer in my flat - coudln't find her.

Then, I remember waking and having been told to drive to a port where she would be waiting for me - so I drove 400 miles- - she wasn't there.

Then, just before going inpatient the first time in 2005 I heard people who were down stairs in my flat saying 'we have to burn her to death' over and over again.

This week I heard a chanting in my head of very creepy voices saying

You must die.' I took diazepam to put me to sleep. Woke up - no voices but shaken.

Do you think these are hallucinations? I've never told my pdoc but am concerned that they are no telling me to hurt myself.

I see him in another week - what do you think???

I hate BP - hate it with a passion

Re: Are they hallucinations??

Yes, I agree, these are hallucinations, and please do tell your pdoc about them. You may be having psychotic episodes, or if you aren't now, you will if you don't get some meds to help you out of these things.

It must be quite frightening. I really hope you will go to your p/doc. I'm surprised you didn't tell him before.

Wish you the best, and please take action to help ourself.

Re: Are they hallucinations??

So, at the weekend my 'hearing' stepped up a notch...

I was lying in bed and felt the voice come through the window, touch my neck and laugh, go into the kithcen, come back to me in the bedroom and took a long stare at me and then went out the window again.

It didn't have legs and the only way I can descibe it is that it is like the bad little man from Lord of the Rings - don't know his name. He had that terrible voice.

See my pdco in 3 days- longest 3 days ever.

Re: Are they hallucinations??

I'm glad you're seeing the pdoc. You sound as if you may be having some psychosis.
Fortunately, meds can knock it out.
Hang in there for that 3 days, and lean on us here until then.

Peace, blessings,

Seaturtle
