HI to everyone....... IN the last 5 months I have had the fear of driving. and when I do drive. everything on the road worries me. I have been driving for years....while driving I have anxiety
I am starting to think that it is connected to my lack of medications. I only take Zyrexia. 5 mgs.......
I need some feedback if anyone has experienced this situation..?
Hello, I couldn't tell you if it is lack of medications, but I had the same experience a while back. I was so afraid of driving or even being in a car with anyone who was driving. Once I got my meds under control, I was OK. Personally, I think the Buspar the pdoc put me on is what gave me the anxiety of driving. It didn't help it. Once I stopped taking it, I was fine.
I take a total of 4 meds now. Now I love to drive. I even want to take my car to the racetrack.
I hope you can talk to your doc about it to get your anxitey under control. I know how awful it can be.
I agree - talk to your p/doc about this. I would think it could well be not enough anti-anxiety meds. Did you reduce or drop any when this fear came on?
But it's also a very common fear, too, a kind of phobia, that people just develop. Don't give it up, stay with it, too. I'm sure you can get over this since you used to love to drive.
