Welcome to the boards. I was diagnosed as bipolar 1 three years ago. If you don't mind my asking, do you have bipolar 1 or 2 ? Since you mentioned mania, I'm assuming bipolar 1?

Klonopin .5mg (2x/day)

I'm really, really surprised that a pdoc would describe you as being the "most messed up peson she has ever seen." Like you, I also hear voices, am delusional, paranoid (I have 7 different types of paranoia) and I also rapid cycle on an hourly basis (sometimes every minute as well). My psychiatrist and therapist both consider my bipolar 1 to be considered "severe" but my psychiatrist promised to do everything he can to help stabilize and reduce my rapid cycling. Although I'm currently in a mixed episode at the moment, he has kept that promise given the fact that I didn't cycle for 3 weeks, so I know it's possible.

I myself am BiPolar with med resistant BP Suicidal Depression, SH/SI, OCD, and PTSD. If I could find a white coat and nity lil nametag I could probably pass as some kind of doctor with all those initials behind my name. "Hi I'm Dr. so and so what's your specialty, Uh who me??? well ummm my specialty is Insanity, yep thats it, I am especially insane!!!"
Don't feel bad. I have bipolar, PTSD and I self-harm. I have 3 different behaviors when it comes to self-harm, so let's just say that I'm lucky to still be here. I'm also "lucky" enough to hear voices (which I've had problems with for the past 17 years) and I struggle with paranoia (I have 7 different types). Instead of referring to myself as "messed up, " I prefer to say "mentally interesting."
