Re: Hello....

Welcome to the boards. I have atypical bipolar 1 disorder. I was originally diagnosed as being schizoaffective 3 years ago, but my diagnosis changed 12 months later to bipolar 1 with ultradian rapid cycling and most recently changed again to atypical bipolar 1 with ultradian rapid cycling. I also have PTSD which was diagnosed last month. I hope you find the board as supportive and helpful as I have. Anytime you have questions or need to vent, feel free to jump right in.

Re: Hello....

Not only are you accepted here; you are welcomed as well! I have been diagnosed with bipolar II disorder. I was diagnosed 4 years ago, although I have struggled with the disease for over 20 years! I have not been that med-compliant in these past 4 years, and have recently suffered with a really dark depresssion as a result of going off my meds a year ago. I was hospitalized and got back on medication, and while I am doing better; I still have significant steps on the pathway of my personal journey until I can say I am stable. One thing is for sure, I am convinced of my need to be medicated now, because I never want to go back to where I was just 2 months ago. This forum is great. You get a lot of feedback and encouragement. Use it as often as you can; it helps so much. God Bless you on your Journey

Re: Hello....

Welcome! I was diagnosed with atypical bipolar I with ultradian rapid cycling (where my moods change every hour and sometimes every minute) in December -- although I was "officially" misdiagnosed with BP (schizoaffective) back in 2006 after my first manic/psychotic episode. I'm now 100% med-compliant after going off of my meds for one week during a manic episode. Before I knew it, my auditory hallucinations, paranoia and delusions came back in full force. I hope you find this board to be as helpful and supportive as I have!

Re: Hello....

Welcome to both Newbies, I love that word, Newbies...hehehe. Umm sorry got a bit sidetracked. I am BP with Severe BP med resistant Suicidal Depression. I was off diagnosed umm..20 yrs ago and on and off meds over the years. I have been strictly med compliant since Dec. of 2007 and am now on Cymbalta, Lamictal, Abilify, Topamax, Clonazapem, and Seroquel prn for sleep. I see both a pdoc and tdoc and I will be starting a DBT group class in April, YIPPEE!

So once again welcome and if you have any questions or answers fire away.
