Amisulpride and Alcohol?? - Bipolar Disorder Message Board

Hi all,
I've now had 2x 100mg daily of Amisulride added to my meds - about 3-4 weeks ago following another hospitalisation. We had good news yesterday so I had one glass of Asti Spumante (v light alcohol in a very small champagne glass). By the end of the vfirst glass I could feel the alcohol effects (not like me normally!!), and by the end of the second I was doubled over in stomach pain. Needless to say I didn't drink any more!!!!

Has anyony else had any effects from taking this drug with alcohol - as I said - it was a very small amount!!

Hey nutshell,

I find it very intersting that in Europe y'all alwasy call the meds by the generic names and not the brand name. I generally have to look up the meds to see what they are. This seems to be Solian, and atypical anti-psychotic...I've never takin it but I know all the meds are not supposed to be consumed with alcohol. I don't drink so sorry I can't give you any data on combining the two. I hope you do well with the new medication.

After I was diagnosed with bipolar, my pdoc warned me that even small amounts of alcohol could cause negative side effects.

Dont Drink on it. Its made me bad in the past and it can cause bad gut trouble.
